Today, the 2025 Mid-Year Working Conference of the Electrical Design Professional Committee of China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association (CPCESDA) was successfully held in Nanjing. The conference was co-organized and supported by Shanghai Nancal Electric Co., Ltd. and other units. The conference explored the leading role of electrical engineering in the petrochemical industry regarding digital-intelligent transformation, green development, and integrated control. Nancal Electric delivered a technical presentation titled High-Reliability Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive Technology and Applications, and reported on the company’s participation in leading the compilation of group standard.
The aromatic hydrocarbon plant is one of the largest single-train crystallization process facilities in China, with a required annual operation time exceeding 8,000 hours. Nancal Electric's high-capacity water-cooling medium voltage drive stood out due to its superior performance and high-reliability technological advantages. Over two years of operation, the system achieved zero unplanned downtime, meeting all process and reliability requirements for aromatic hydrocarbon production.

The event was hosted by the China Association of Mechatronics Technology and Application and co-organized by Shanghai Nancal Electric Co., Ltd., among other companies. Petrochemical production is a continuous process that demands extremely high equipment reliability. Nancal Electric has achieved multiple domestic "first-of-its-kind" breakthroughs in sectors with stringent reliability requirements, including military, nuclear power, chemical, mining, and energy storage, showcasing its technological leadership and extensive engineering expertise.
The National Energy Administration officially added the "Non-Energy Three-Generation Nuclear Power Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) Drive" to its list of major technical equipment in the energy sector. The Non-Energy Three-Generation Nuclear Power AP1000 RCP drive serves as the sole power supply for the motor. Its reliable operation is crucial to the stability, availability, and overall performance of the nuclear power plant. To address the supply chain bottleneck in this critical equipment, Shanghai Nancal Electric, Shandong Nuclear Power and Shanghai nuclear engineering R&D institute collaboratively developed a 10 kV/ 50 Hz input, 6.9 kV/ 60 Hz output, 10,500 kVA rated capacity reactor coolant pump drive. Beyond the energy sector, Nancal has also made significant "first set" strides in industries such as chemicals, mining, and energy storage.
On September 24 at 7:08 PM, the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant 2 successfully completed its fourth refueling overhaul and achieved grid connection. During this maintenance window, Shandong Nuclear Power, in collaboration with Shanghai Nancal Electric and several institutions, completed the first domestic replacement of the main pump VFD for AP1000 units, enabling them to operate at full capacity for extended periods. This achievement enhances the reliability and economic efficiency of the AP1000 units and marks a significant advancement in China's nuclear technology.
