On April 9, 2026, the fifth refueling outage of Haiyang Nuclear Power Unit 1 was successfully completed, concluding with the full localization replacement of the remaining four imported RCP Drives. The unit was successfully reconnected to the grid on its first attempt.
With this milestone, all eight imported RCP Drives across the two units of Haiyang Nuclear Power Phase I have now been fully replaced with Nancal Electric medium voltage drives, completely eliminating unplanned shutdowns caused by RCP Drive fault and providing a critical equipment foundation for safe and stable unit operation.
The RCP Drive system adopts a "4-operation and 1-standby" configuration. In the event of a failure of any RCP Drive, the hot standby drive can automatically take over quickly, significantly improving the reliability of the RCP power supply and substantially enhancing unit operational reliability and economic efficiency.
