- Application of Nancal Electric Medium Voltage Drives in Oilfield Ethane Recovery UnitsThis medium voltage drive has been in stable operation on-site for over three years and has withstood multiple grid voltage sags of varying severity. The power cell fast automatic bypass design and the Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) capability of Nancal Electric's medium voltage drives address internal cell failures and external grid voltage sags, respectively, effectively preventing unplanned shutdowns caused by such issues.Oil&Gas February 04, 2026
- Application of Nancal Medium Voltage Drive in Redundant Retrofit of Propylene CompressorsIn a chemical gasification plant, the propylene compressor plays a crucial role with high demands for operational reliability and stability. Equipment failure can have severe impacts on the plant and downstream production. The plant originally used an imported medium-voltage drive, but its failure rate has been increasing. A significant failure, especially one that cannot be quickly repaired, could halt gasification operations, disrupt downstream production, and lead to substantial economic losses. After extensive research and technical discussions, the user selected Shanghai Nancal’s medium-voltage drive for hot standby, enabling the redundant automatic switching technology of NC HVVF to resolve issues caused by failures in the original imported drive and ensure uninterrupted production.Petrochemical November 22, 2024

- Application of Nancal Electric MV Drives in High-Speed Permanent Magnet Direct-Drive Systems for Steam-to-Electric Retrofit Project of Compressors in the Chemical IndustryA well-known domestic chemical enterprise planned to implement an energy-saving, emission-reduction, and capacity-expansion project for its polycarbonate production unit. This included converting the originally steam-driven MVR steam compressor to electric drive. The MVR steam compressor system was originally driven by a high-speed steam turbine (referred to as the steam turbine), directly connected to the drive shaft of the high-speed centrifugal compressor. The NC HVVF series medium voltage drives provided by Nancal Electric delivered excellent high-frequency drive performance and system safety control performance for the high-speed PMSM in this MVR steam compressor "steam-to-electric" retrofit project of a polycarbonate production unit, providing highly reliable and sustainable technical support for the project retrofit.Petrochemical December 29, 2025
- Nancal Electric Medium Voltage Frequency Inverter used in Henan coking plantIndustryMiningObjectiveAccording to the environmental requirements, the offgas in coking plant needs to be desulfurized and denitrified before discharged. There are 4 induced draft fans on the customer site to guide the coking flue gas to the desulfurization tower and denitrification reactor.Petrochemical July 07, 2021
- Application of Localized Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) Drives in Third-Generation AP1000 Nuclear Power PlantThe Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) Drive is a critical single-point-of-failure electrical equipment in the third-generation AP1000 nuclear power plant. In 2022, Shandong Nuclear Power Company Ltd., Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute, and Shanghai Nancal Electric Co., Ltd. initiated a collaboration and successfully developed an RCP Drive for the third-generation AP1000 nuclear power plant in 2023. This significantly enhances the operational reliability of the RCP Drives and the flexibility of standby RCP Drive switching, further improving the operational reliability and economic efficiency of AP1000 nuclear power units.Others December 25, 2025
- National Energy Administration Added "Non-Energy Third-Generation Nuclear Power Reactor Coolant Pump Drive" to Major Technical Equipment ListThe National Energy Administration officially added the "Non-Energy Three-Generation Nuclear Power Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) Drive" to its list of major technical equipment in the energy sector. The Non-Energy Three-Generation Nuclear Power AP1000 RCP drive serves as the sole power supply for the motor. Its reliable operation is crucial to the stability, availability, and overall performance of the nuclear power plant. To address the supply chain bottleneck in this critical equipment, Shanghai Nancal Electric, Shandong Nuclear Power and Shanghai nuclear engineering R&D institute collaboratively developed a 10 kV/ 50 Hz input, 6.9 kV/ 60 Hz output, 10,500 kVA rated capacity reactor coolant pump drive. Beyond the energy sector, Nancal has also made significant "first set" strides in industries such as chemicals, mining, and energy storage.News November 29, 2024
